David Holwell Born 1939 in Chipping Ongar, Essex, Dave was educated at Ongar Secondary Modern and started running at school, where he progressed to county standard at age 19 with the one mile being his specialist event. He was employed in the electronics industry until retirement in 2008. His passion is golf, collecting autographs, programmes and other memorabilia. He and Patricia his partner are proud to be trustees of The Foundation and devote time to bringing the life of Samuel Ryder back into public focus and promoting the ideals that he stood for.
Patricia Fulton Born in Edgware, Middlesex, Patricia lived and was educated in Belmont and Wealdstone. She loved sport, particularly netball and formed an out of school netball team. She trained as a telephonist, lived in Scotland at age 18 for 3 years and became a model for Alexon in Glasgow. She studied beauty therapy in London, worked in a salon and privately. She played golf before family commitments and caught the bug! She has 4 grandchildren and her main interests, which she shares with her partner David, are golfing activities and the Foundation.
Paul Sayers Paul lived much of his early life in Essex and was educated at the Gilberd School Colchester. He then moved up north to study law at Lancaster University. Not being able to settle in a legal career he went to drama school and trained as an actor. As a part time venture he now co-runs, directs and acts in a professional theatre company specialising in open air Shakespeare productions. He has also trained as a personal and business coach and works for an HR training company. He is inspired by the achievements of Samuel Ryder, his can-do attitude and his connection with people.
Bob Reitemeier CBE Born and raised in Minnesota, USA, Bob settled in St Albans with his family in 1994. He is Chief Executive of Essex Community Foundation, a charitable trust which awards grants to voluntary and community organisations, in support of community development. He has enjoyed a 30 year career in the not-for-profit sector, first in the international development field and now in England. He lived and worked in Africa for seven years and Asia for four years. Bob grew up playing the game of golf with his father and grandfather, who was a golf professional in Colorado, USA. He is delighted to be a trustee of the Samuel Ryder Foundation and to help keep alive the promotion of good causes that this wonderful man initiated.
